Australian musician Brook Rees has been performing and recording as a bassist for the past 30 years. He has toured throughout Australia, Asia and Europe and has recorded/performed with artists including Grammy Nominated singer Jai Uttal, Australian rock legend Pat Davern from Grinspoon, Terapai Richmond from D.I.G/The Whitlam’s and Australian Electro ensemble Vesica Pisces. He has held a Jazz Piano Trio residency at Australia’s Palazzo Versace for the last 10 years playing shows for guests including Drake, Pamela Anderson, Rod Stewart and Royal families from around the globe.
Brook is also a founding member and producer of Australian/USA based rock band Malakye Grind. Malakye Grind have been a part of the Australian rock scene since the early 90’s and their sophomore album ‘Dystopian Dream’ has been met with acclaim with the LP single ‘Into the Night’ finding widespread commercial airplay in the USA, South America and Europe. In 2022 Malakye Grind and the band’s bass driven rock track “Wanna Party” was selected by the Marvel Franchise for the global special features release of Thor: Love and Thunder and was also chosen as a feature track for the Rugby Nation TV broadcast throughout Germany and Europe.
Brook writes, performs and records with Malakye Grind and Vesica Pisces using Models: Aria’s RSB-618/5 model and Electric Upright model SWB-Lite-BIS bass.
